prelude

“The unexamined life is not worth living.”
— Socrates

What does it mean to be human?
Why do we think, feel, choose, and hesitate?

This story
was not written to give answers.
It was written
so that one may begin to walk—
together with the questions.

After nine years of silence,
the first chapter begins
on February 1, 2026.

Those of us living in the present age
are surrounded by values
that feel unbearably thin.
Perhaps we have even given up
on questioning them at all.

Is nothing changed, no matter how hard we struggle?
Or have we simply never asked—
with true seriousness—
why nothing seems to change?

Three years into a job at a large corporation,
he was known as “a good guy” in his department.
He never refused a request,
accepted overtime with a smile,
and swallowed unreasonable scoldings.
He believed this was how one survives—
and even took pride in playing the role well.

But no one ever listened to his voice.
No—
he himself had chosen not to listen.
Not to the voice crying out
from the deepest part of his own being.

(Excerpt from Episode 1–2)

This story
continues to question
the very principles of being human.

It is not only for young people
struggling to live.
It is for those in midlife
who were never allowed to stop,
for those who, in old age,
can no longer find hope ahead,
and for those
about to step into society for the first time.

Not to hand over answers—
but to hand over
the questions themselves.

This story may be
a letter of challenge
addressed to you.

The story will not be released until February 1st.
